Core Skills for Children’s Work
This exciting training scheme seeks to resource all those who work with children in the church, and provides part of the foundational training for children’s leaders in the Methodist Church and United Reformed Church. The material is creative and interactive, making it highly accessible as one-off two-hour training programmes for children’s leaders within the local church. Devised and developed by members of CGMC, the six stand-alone modules cover key areas of children’s work
Arise Ministries
Arise Ministries is an exciting initiative of The Girls’ Brigade England & Wales and Viz-A-Viz Ministries that will help you to pioneer new outreach to children in your community.
“On the doorstep of every local church there are communities of children, many of whom know little about Jesus, most of whom never engage with church – what a challenge! Almost every one of these communities of children has a local church within easy reach – what an opportunity!” – Ruth Gilson, Co-Founder Arise Ministries
Baptist Union of Great Britain
Baptist people are a Christ-centred people. Having responded to the Lord Jesus Christ in believer’s baptism, we should long to live out that mission lifestyle formed around his teaching. But how do we live this out in our contemporary world and what sort of Christ-centred people should we be when we consider the place of children in our midst and the wider community.
Bible Reading Fellowship
The Barnabas project from BRF exists to resource you for your work with children under the age of 11. On their website you’ll find details of an extensive range of books and resources, along with feature articles and reports from the Barnabas team on their work with churches and primary schools, a wealth of ‘off-the-peg’ ideas to use with the children in your church or group (e.g. to help you get going with holiday clubs, drama, music, worship, storytelling, puppets), and much, much more.

Thank God for children’s work!

Does your Church encourage children to express their theology like the child who drew this picture? In other words, does it:
- take children seriously?
- recognize their gifts and ministries?
- nurture their spirituality, or just feed them Bible stories?
- see them as equal partners with adults on the journey of faith?
Children have their own particular gifts and ministries. Does your church provide an arena for them to use their gifts and develop their ministries?
